A2Z areas of new year resolutions
Most of us have a habit of making New Year resolutions. But often we end up withdrawing before end of January. Still it is a good thing to do because if we write resolutions they get imprinted in our subconscious mind and our actions get directed towards them, knowingly or unknowingly. However most of us do not get enough ideas to resolve. I have compiled A to Z areas in which we can frame our resolutions.
Addiction – Giving up smoking, drinking, non-vegetarian food,etc. are the most popular resolutions. Find out a habit which is harming your mind, body, heart and soul and resolve to quit.
Business – If you are in business, you can resolve for top line and bottom line growth, quality improvement, customers satisfaction, liability reduction, business expansion, employeewelfare, CSR activities etc.
Character – One can resolve to eliminate flaws in a character such as dishonesty, jealousy, ego, etc.
Discipline – If you have habit of reaching office late or skipping morning walk then resolve to be more disciplined in future.
Education – If you wish to get another degree or want to pursue higher education, resolve to do that.
Family and Friends – If your relationships with dear and near ones need improvement then resolve to make more efforts in that direction.
Games – If you like some game or sport but skipping them due to other priorities then resolve to achieve balance.
Health – Health is being neglected due to highly demanding lifestyle. Resolve to give 1 hour everyday so that another 23 hours become more productive.
Income – Plan to increase your monthly income or start another source of income to meet rising family needs.
Job – You may set job related goals so that your performance increases and you get promotion and salary raise.
Knowledge – In the year 1992 I resolved that I will read one book every month which helped me in enhancing my knowledge and hence I feel myself capable of writing blogs.
Love – If your love life is going for a toss, resolve to give quality time to your companion.
Money Management – You may have sufficient income and enough wealth but if it is not properly managed then you are losing major source of passive income. One must resolve to invest part of savings in precious metals, real estate, stocks of good companies etc. for developing passive income.
Neighborhood – As a personal social responsibility it is our duty to do good for our neighbors. Resolve to participate in community activities.
Over Dues– If your out-standings have increased then you may resolve to reduce loans in this year.
Passion – You may have some passions to pursue and you were unable to give enough time for that then resolve to pursue your passion that will give you lot of happiness and peace.
Quality of life – Quality of life is getting neglected due to work pressure and scarcity of time and money. You may resolve to achieve this area.
Religion & Spirituality – Religion and spirituality are important aspects of life. To achieve Moksha is final purpose of all human being. Efforts need to be performed to achieve this.
Society – As a human being we are part of some or othersocieties, clubs, groups etc. We may resolve to give our time, money and energy for betterment of our society.
Travel – Most of the people have desire to explore various places in the world. That increases our horizon, vision and outlook. You may resolve to see one or two new places everyyear.
Universe – Being a part of universe we have responsibility to leave the planet better than we found it. Tree plantation, nature conservation, banning plastics etc. can be the resolution as a tribute to our Mother Earth.
Values – Moral values in upcoming generations are weakening. One can resolve to identify those and make efforts to strengthen them
Weekly Review– Fix 15 minutes in a week preferably Sunday or Monday morning to review the progress on resolutions and reframe if needed.
Xtra curricular activities – One may resolve to participate in activities other than work and family such as art, cultural, sports, community service etc.
Yes I Can – All above resolutions require the attitude of “I CAN” and “I WILL” otherwise by February the entire efforts will be of no use.
Zeal – At the last zeal and enthusiasm throughout the year need to be maintained if one wishes to get full benefit of New Year resolutions.
