To give assistance or contribute to the furtherance of others

A good exercise for the heart is to bend down and help another up.

A survey of successful people would reveal that they are more able to ask when they want something done.

Asking indicates self worth and self-esteem. Asking confirms in our mind and in the mind of others that we have rights and privileges. Asking is the first logical step to let others know what you want. People are not mind readers. Asking gives somebody else the pleasure of helping you. if you like to help others, then give them the same opportunity.

Don’t feel Bitter that people remember only when they Need because CANDLE Comes to Mind when there’s Darkness in life.

Extending one help to some one has more value than joining two hands for prayer.

Go to help your friend in problem without invitation and do not go to your friend in happiness without invitation.

Hands that help are better than lips that pray.

While helping do not look into the eyes of needy, there are all chances that his shamefulness may develop ego in your heart.

 

The Squirrel and the Cartload of nuts

A Squirrel lived on a tree near a lion’s cave. One day the lion was caught in a net laid by the hunters. It fretted and fumed, roared and raged fearfully. The squirrel heard the roars of her king and saw him in a pitiable condition. The squirrel wanted to do him a good turns and began to gnaw the net. After working for the whole night she freed him.

The lion was full of gratitude and promised her a cartload of must. The squirrel then entered the services of the lion. Soon she was his pet and favorite. The lion had not forgotten his promise but delayed its fulfillment purposely. The squirrel depended on the lion and did not gather the nuts like her friends. Soon she became old and lost all her teeth. She retired from the services of the lion. The lion now brought her the cartload of nuts is of no use to me now. As all my teeth are broken T can’t break a single nut.”

The lion’s reply was, “small creature I purposely delayed fulfilling my promise. Your friends did not depend on their friend so they never remained hungry but as you depended on me you always suffered. I wanted to teach you the value of self help.”

 

Moral of the story :

You do not need any help if you help yourself.
