The Bee and the Dove

A bee and a dove were great friend. One day the bee felt thirsty and in order to quench its thirst went to the stream. As it was drinking water a swift and strong current washed it away. The dove, whish was sitting on a tree, saw its friend in danger. It plucked a left and dropped it near the bee, which was struggling for life. The bee escaped. Few days later a hunter came to the jungle. He saw the dove sitting on the tree. He took a careful aim and the dove in order to kill it. The bee saw this. It at once flew to the hunter and stung him severely on the hard. He missed his aim and the dove flew away.

The Crow-Hen, The Cobra, and The Jackal

Once upon a time there was a crow and his wife who had built a nest in a banyan tree. A big snake crawled into the hollow trunk and at up the chicks as they were hatched. The crow did not want to move, since he loved the tree dearly. 50 he went to his friend the jackal for advice. A plan of action was devised. The crow and his wife flew about in implementation. As the wife approached a pond, she saw the women of the king’s court bathing, with pearls, necklaces, gems, garments, and a golden chain lying on the shore. The crown-hen seized the golden chain in her beak and flew toward the banyan tree with the eunuchs in pursuit. When she reached the tree, she dropped the chain into the hole. As the king’s men climbed the tree for the chain, they saw the swelling hood of the cobra. 50they killed the snake with their clubs, retrieved the golden chain, and went back to the pond. And the crow and his wife lived happily ever after. A tale from the Panchatantra, 4th century, retold in the craft of power. R.G.hsiu.1979

Moral of the story:

Friend in need is a friend indeed. 

 

When friends are in trouble, don’t brother them by asking if there is anything you can do. Think of something appropriate and do it.
